Cuddystone Hall Wedding | Captured Moments Wedding Photography | Northumberland Wedding Photographer

As a Northumberland wedding photographer I was so pleased to be asked to capture the wedding of Conrad and Nicky at Cuddystone Hall, in the heart of the Northumberland Cheviots.  It is a charming, romantic and unusual wedding venue but one I and no doubt every guest there will never forget. It is the occasion no-one forgets for all the right reasons.

Cuddystone Hall stands completely alone surrounded by hills in the heart of the beautiful, remote College Valley. It is licensed for civil wedding ceremonies and can be hired exclusively making it a very private day. College Valley is a very special place - a hidden gem and definitely worth a look by any bride to be!

It is the ideal place to create a very unique wedding where your guests will never forget the day. they will be rewarded with panoramic views to far away horizons stretching as far as the eye can see.

The hall can seat 120 when set out in rows with an aisle down the middle. It has large windows allowing you to enjoy the spectacular views and with a varnished floor giving it a bright crisp interior with good natural lighting.

Locatedin North Northumberland. within the Northumberland National Park, on the border between England and Scotland. The Hall looks directly onto Cheviot hills and is 11 miles from Wooler, so although it feels remote is relatively near civilisation!

The hall was built by College Valley Estates in 1961 as a meeting place for local shepherds and their families. It replaced the old Sutherland Hall, constructed of wood with a corrugated tin roof. Tales have it in the 1940's dances were held lit by Tilley lamps. In those days there was no bar and everyone brought their own drink the bottles being slipped into the haystack which stood outside. Such good nights were they that some bottles got forgotten only to appear when shepherds cut into the haystack for winter fodder!  Amazing dances, music making and social occasions have been held within its walls – and often outside too for so many people came they couldn't all squeeze onto the dance floor!

Now to the Wedding!!

The weather was a challenge but luckily I use Nikon full framed professional DSLR's which are weather sealed and operational in varied adverse weather conditions.Everyone had a great day and the weather kind of made the day to remember and aided in some different and unique wedding images for the Nicky and Conrad.

Their pre wedding shoot certainly helped as they were so relaxed in front of the camera and a joy to work with.

I offer all my clients a free pre wedding shoot at a mutually agreeable location, but I like to ideally take them at their venue as it helps you feel more relaxed on your wedding day. The location itself can be personal to you. Somewhere you got engaged, the venue, or somewhere that means something special to the both of you or just an amazing location.
